Call me crazy, but once in a while, when the sun is shining directly through our big glass patio doors, Peter's toys (their bright colors and long contrasting shadows) make me feel as though I am in a light and sweet memory from my own childhood. Sigh, I guess mess can be beautiful. . .
I wish my camera could have captured the feel of the room and the vivid colors a bit better, but these next two will have to do. (and I am too lazy to doctor the photos in Photoshop)
Grandma White gave Peter her bag of alphabet toys when we moved. He instantly became enthralled with each varying letter. We started by telling him sounds to some of the letters and then started saying the actual names. Now when he sees the letter O he says "ooo", B is "be", and so on. I think he knows either the name or the sound for: A,B,D,E,F,H,I,M,N,O,P,S,T,X,Y. Every day I am amazed at his love for learning and especially his interest in letters and numbers. Note: he has not figured out how to say the "k" sound so cookie is tootee, unfortunately that is also the same sound he makes when he counts "(one) tootee, (one) tootee"
Our apartment has been static central this last month. I am so glad that I was able to capture Peter's hair standing on end as he was running around the house.
Matt was awarded his Virginia Chiropractic Licence. Now if he only had a job . . . Actually he has decided to go back to school to become a nurse practitioner. He has applied to Creighton in Omaha, NE, and UIC in Chicago, IL. Cast your votes if you have a preference. :-)
Peter LOVES the bath, this day the first thing he did after waking up was to get into the bath. He wanted to play in the water so much.
Peter loves " 'no". He does not say the "s" in snow so sometimes I can't tell if he is saying "no" or "snow". Regardless of his vocal abilities, he thinks it is awesome.
Matt gave Peter a hair cut last month. He appears to have grown 2 years in 20 minutes.
We inherited an additional choochoo set and made this awesome track. Peter played with it for hours!
Matt and I find that these simple pleasures are sources of great joy in our lives. Without our little Peter and each tender mercy God provides, we would be miserable. But we are not miserable and we are happy to share our lives with you.
